Monica Kwok Speaks at the 2nd Annual University of Michigan Ross School of Business ETA Conference

On January 19, 2024, Search Funds Group Principal Monica Kwok will moderate a panel titled “Avoiding Legal Pitfalls” at the 2nd Annual University of Michigan Ross School of Business ETA Conference in Ann Arbor, MI.

The event brings together search fund entrepreneurs, investors, MBA students, faculty and other participants in the Entrepreneurship through Acquisition (ETA) or search fund ecosystem to meet one another and share insights into this rapidly expanding area.

Monica has significant experience representing search fund clients in all phases of the search fund lifecycle, including fund formation, fundraising, acquisitions, ongoing operations, and beyond. She also partners with investors, entrepreneurs and executives on strategic and milestone transactions.

“Having a strong legal team is key to executing a successful search transaction. Entrepreneurs should seek to line their benches with folks who are not just advisors, but dealmakers. I look forward to moderating an insightful discussion on how searchers can leverage their legal teams during the search fund lifecycle and beyond,” said Monica.

In addition to her robust search fund practice, Monica represents traditional private equity sponsors with respect to leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate transactions.

The Michigan Ross ETA Conference, hosted by the ETA Club at Michigan Ross, is centered on equipping individuals with tactical and applicable knowledge to thrive at every stage of ETA. By offering real-world insights, the conference speakers aim to empower attendees with practical expertise that enhances their success as searchers, CEOs, and more within the ETA landscape.
